We split into 3 groups of people.
1st floor chilled storeroom
Karen’s group
Knocks and taps were heard in this room, although not in response to us asking.
There was a definite tap on the room
Shadow moved across the light coming in from the stairs, on the wall behind Karen.
Picked up on a male in his teens. He seemed quite timid and as if he was not allowed to talk. There was a definite need to cuddle his mother.

There was a loud knock heard on the ceiling of the cellar (which was felt at the same time by someone sitting in the shop on the floor at the same spot)
A blue light was seen in the far right corner.
Noise was heard, but not sure what.
Karen picked up on families hidden down in the cellar area’s, and living there.
Could distinctly see a young lady in the far left corner of the room, crouched down with a young daughter aged about 9 and a son of about 14.

Nothing much to report of any paranormal happenings.
When Karen first went into this room she was very aware of a male who would have been very aggressive and violent. Upon entering the room it was almost as if we had invaded his space and he wasn’t at all happy about it. Other’s felt quite light headed.

Something odd in the corner by the door.

Several taps and a crying or sobbing sound heard.

Medium’s Report – Karen Ford
Before even getting to this location, I had been getting some very strange feelings and images all day. This was the information I had picked up before arriving at the location – something I have not really done to such an extent before! I had also never even seen the location previously.
Male aged 30 to 40, married to a lady who couldn’t have children.
He knocked her around a lot and eventually murdered her. I believe he was hung for his crimes.
He used to go up to London to work at times, and would spend weeks away at a time.
He was very violent.
Very well respected and smartly dressed when out.
When he murdered his wife he went to London, where he was eventually found.
They lived a poor life, and there was not much furniture etc.
When I was at the location, I was not sure if I was then picking up on various people and times as it did get a little more confusing.
I felt very much that this location had housed a number of familes in various rooms and on various floors. I felt the violence of a male of about 37 years of age, but he would have been extremely scruffy and quite smelly. I also sensed that he had a drink problem as well. I could feel him attack his wife, often dragging her by her hair down the stairs, raping her, and attacking her in various ways.
I felt that they would have lived in the very top room, but also in the next floor down, as I felt that it was in this room at the front of the shop that he strangled her after a very vicious attack. I felt that this was on a small bed, under the window. The sadness and upset felt by his wife was quite overbearing, and at times I felt it quite hard to stay in the same area for too long.
I did also get the names Thomas, Mary and Sniddlesham. (I have since found out that there is a place called Siddlesham not far from this location which used to be linked by rail directly to Chichester) so perhaps this was a link to the place rather than a name? I also got the year 1923.
I was also aware of a taller, thinner male, than the one described above. I felt that he was also not a great family man, and was also quite abusive to his family. I felt that he did have a daughter and a son, but didn’t look after them much. His interests seemed more to do with his work. This is the connection I felt to the travels up to London. I felt a strong feeling to do with either slave trade, or trading with people, and he was a link between the higher society in London and the South coast.
I am not sure which of these men was hung, or whether this sensation was just from the strangulation of the lady.
In the cellar, when there was more than just me down there, there was not a lot happening. When I went down on my own the people just seemed to come out of the walls. There were children and women who were very poor and just wanting help. I felt that they would have lead a very difficult life, living quite rough. The need for help got more and more overwhelming and when I tried to leave it was almost like they were tugging at my jeans not to leave them. I made me feel extremely sad.
The strong feelings I recieved from this location were very strong. The images stayed with me for weeks afterwards and the need to return was very strong. I have since returned on a visit separate to the SPiRIT group with another medium to try and resolve some of the matters I picked up on here, much of which was confirmed. We will be returning once again in the near future to try and do some cleansing of the area along with Spirit guides, and hopefully bring some peace to the spirits there.
Glass Moving Experiment
Male connected to Micheala – died in an accident. After saying thank you for coming we moved on.
Female lived here over 100 years ago.
Family lady who was murdered.
She didn’t like Mike or Mark so they had to leave the circle.
She was murdered by her husband, who was charged with her murder. He is still here in the house with her.
They had two children – Charlotte.
Husband was hung for her murder.
Her name began with an M. Mary was confirmed.
She moves around between the storeroom and the cellar.
More than 18 people are present in the cellar and lived in the cellar.
Daughter died at an early age.
She was murdered in the room at the front of the shop on the second floor.
Husband was call Malcolm.
She died in 1911. She used to be beaten by him and she stabbed him
They had a teenage son -14. Murdered by dad.
Daughter was also killed by her dad.
Husband travelled to London.
Son murdered in the back room on the second floor.
Asked for surname and the word ‘Deadlock’ was spelt out.
She passed at the age of 35.
Husband was hung in London, based in Shoreditch / Whitechapel area.
Husband worked as a banker.
Daughter died at age 11 and was thrown from the window.
Conclusion
This certainly proved to be an active location, and well worth a return visit.
There are many emotions and sensations to be felt here.
Much was caught on camera in the form of orbs in most locations, although the activity does appear to move around the location and not just kept to one or two particular areas. There was also quite a lot of sound, so next time I would also advise running sound recordings in each area throughout the night

Ann : Brethren family – father would have been very strict. He had a daughter and two sons. He didn’t like women in general.
He watches the ladies working in the shop and stands in the doorway into the kitchen.
He also used to put one of the children into the cellar.
Guest : Hand pulled by a child, told not to go down there. (by the trap door leading into the cellar)

1 guest sensed someone’s face scraped against a wall.
1 guest asked why he killed his children to which Stuart felt very aggressive.
1 guest sensed that a man had stabbed someone with a well-worn knife. The stabbing motion into the left-hand side of the heart which went straight through.
Cellar
Group 1 8.20pm – 8.40pm
Karen picked up on a young boy, among many others who came and held her hand whilst they were down there. She sensed the name of Adam and that he had very curly dark hair and wore small round specs which had been repaired in the centre. He was about the age of 6. There were also a couple of older boys there too called Jo and Jack. There were many more who seemed to gradually come out from the far corner to the ladder, like there was a tunnel there where they all came from. Karen felt that they would have resided more a little further down the road and not in this particular building. There were also adults with the children, but all were very scruffy and not particularly well looked after.
There was another gentleman call George who was wearing what looked like pyjama bottoms and a woollen type of jacket (bit like a duffle coat type of material) which was dark blue. He was nearly bald with just a little grey hair. He died at the age of 62.
Karen also felt that further down there had been a fire which she felt some people had perished in.
Karen was also aware of a type of grave or pit where bodies had just been left after passing over rather than having a proper burial.
The guests saw many lights which seemed to come from the wall to the left of the ladder as you enter the cellar. One person could also see a sort of ripple effect like water which was black and silky.
Another guest was aware of a tall gentleman near to the electrics at the rear of the cellar.
Shadows of people were also seen twice.
Group 2 9.15pm - 9.35pm
Asked ‘If you are the man of the house, one tap please’ – nothing heard
3 thuds heard below
Footsteps heard underneath the ladder
Asked ‘If it is a child, one tap please’ – 1 tap heard and then a thud
Whispering heard followed by another tap
Don then went into the cellar on his own and shut down the cover. As Don was facing the ladder there was a bang behind him and he heard crying. He felt this was a young girl who was confined or restrained in another room behind the ladder. He felt this room had been bricked up.
Asked ‘Are you behind the wall?’ – Flash of light seen
‘Can you tap the wall please?’ – small tap heard
‘Are you on your own?’ – Thump heard
Don felt that an adult had entered the room and the children appeared to have gone.

While taking photo’s, camera shutter started to play up
Pick up on the name Jacob (father) Issac (son) and Isabel (daughter)
Camera stand moved
Asked ‘Can we take a photo, 1 tap for no and 2 for yes’ – 1 tap heard for no
Cold was felt at the back of the room
Don had a tick in his left eye
Felt that Isabel was a little girl of about 8 – 9 years old. She likes to come into this room as it is most frequented.
Asked ‘Give us a sign’ – felt a touch on the hand
She was scared and could feel us being there. Her mother died in childbirth
Group 1 8.45pm - 9.05pm
To the right-hand side by the shelving there were lights which moved in response to being asked to move which constantly either flashed, stayed still or moved around the entire time we were in there.
A strong light was also seen behind one of the guests just near to these lights.
Another guest standing to the door side of the shelving felt a man standing behind her. She could physically feel someone pressing on her back. There were then tugs on her jumper. There was also 1 tug in response to being asked to tug at clothing.
Another guest experienced 3 taps which he heard within his inner ear.
There was a man picked up in the corner of the room who was responding to the request to make tapping noises but a proper code was unable to be established. There were also a few flashes of light from this corner.
It was sensed that a man was also walking up and down in front of the windows and there was a definite drawing to the far window on the left.
Karen asked out whether this was ‘Malcolm’ and there was a distinct change in the energy there were flashes of light seen by all and 3 green balls of light were seen. Karen felt someone walk straight through her and had a massive surge of energy and goose-bumps.
Temp remained a constant 14.5 throughout.
Loud noises of furniture being dragged across the upstairs floor were heard also many heavy footsteps; when checked through on the radio all other investigators were accounted for in other areas.
Group 3 9.15pm - 9.35pm
One guest felt like someone was pressing up against her in a sexual way and had to leave the room.
1 guest picked up on a rape in the room (she was not aware at this time why the other guest had left the room)

Stuart felt sick by the left window
1 guest felt scratch down the left hand side and felt a spiteful presence.
Mark was tickled on the top of his head

1 guest felt like she was being strangled, like a pressure in the neck from thumbs being pushed in.
1 guest sensed a bedroom in this area with a 4 poster bed and a reception room with a chaise lounge
Picked up on the sense of a young girl with her hair cut short
9.25pm footsteps were heard on the ceiling
A man was sensed behind Stuart and one of the guests saw a hand. Stuart felt a pain in the shoulders.
1 guest picked up on a woman’s sadness, but felt there was no woman present in the room
1 guest moved to where Troy was standing previously and felt drunk and that she wanted to drool. (this was in front of the boxes)

Two of the guests wrote down a few statements whilst in this area-

‘Someday I’m going to take your life away – I gave it to you, might be now, might be later who knows. Your mine. Master’
‘You bastard, I hate you’
Were these statements from the past or the now?
These two guests had swimming heads when entering the room. They felt a not nice man walk up the stairs and stand by the door.
One of them sensed him pacing up and down with a girl beside him.
Mark, Stuart and 1 guest heard a noise on the stairs
Stuart heard breathing (8.25pm)
They could all sense someone on the stairs.
Children were felt around as if they were interested in what was going on.
Troy called out and 1 guest could hear ‘Can you see me now?’
She picked up the name of Samantha and could hear whispering.
Troy felt cool breezes on his arm
Stuart got an itchy head
1 guest sensed a mother and daughter behind the door
1 guests sensed a man with an arm around Troy aged 19 with long hair. She felt that he was sad, afraid and need a hug.
Group 2 8.45pm - 9.05pm
Jo felt that a female had died of consumption

2 taps heard after asking for 2 taps
Asked ‘1 tap for a girl, 2 taps for a boy, 3 taps for a man’ – 1 tap heard at the back of the room
Group 1 9.15pm - 9.35pm
One of the guests picked up most of what was felt within this room, but all could smell or feel sick upon entering this room.
She felt that the room would have been bigger than it is now. It would have been a sort of workshop for woodwork. She sensed a male who would have worked here and would have taken standard furniture and carved it to decorate it. He gave her acorn style wooden curtain rail ends and s sensed him holding her wrists.
They talked together about the artist Scheile – she is also an artist.
He described himself as an artist to make things decorative ‘I want all beauty in all things’
He said that she had a name like his. ‘We are brothers/sisters, we are the same’
‘I never had a daughter’ He had a son but was not married.
The wall which faces the door as you come in she was particularly drawn to and felt that he was sort of half in and half out of the wall.
She pressed against the wall and just suddenly thought that it was sexual that she was a whore. There was a sudden change in the energy in the room and Karen asked if it was Malcolm.
She drew back very quickly and felt completely repulsed, as if someone had been playing a really nasty trick on her.
Was this Malcolm being manipulative and using her name and interests to his own means?
Back Room Séance – 10pm
We opened up a standing séance in which everyone held hands. The room was light enough for everyone to be able see around the room from a light shining in from the hallway.
A shadow was seen outside the circle near to the window
Two people could feel a pulling on their hands as if someone was trying to pull them back out of the circle to break it, beside the left wall as you enter the room
Strong energy seen behind people on the right wall
Cold breezes felt by people on the right wall area
Light seen above heads of people near to the door
Sense of 2 males walking around the outside of the circle
1 man moved in really close to Don and was a little too close, so the circle was closed down.

Ouija Experiment – 10.40pm
The name of Malcolm was spelt. He refused to answer any questions about his family at first.
He said he died in 1927 at the age of 62 but then stated 1846 as a year of birth. We are therefore unsure as to the reliability of the information gleaned from this experiment.
The information gathered was that he lived in London with his wife and didn’t have any daughters. He had a mistress who resided and worked in this shop called Mary. He was involved in the Slave trade and imported Russian people. Mary had given birth to a baby who was conceived with one of the Russians. He used the cellar to hide people during this trading. He got annoyed with his wife and mistress both of whom he murdered because of adultery. He confirmed that he was a heavy drinker and would be quite smelly.
He refused to give his surname but would give the letter ‘P’
He also confirmed that he had been jailed in Pentonville prison and hung for his crimes.
He had also fought in the First World War. He also confirmed that he had murdered Mary’s daughter.
The glass also went to the letter U Y a few times, almost like asking the question, and when explained that we were interested in what happens to people once they pass and to find out more about the people around the house he seemed happy enough.
Karen asked if he liked being there and he said no. Karen asked if he would accept help from her guides to find a way to move on or progress and he said yes. Karen left this with her guides.
It was asked which staff he liked and disliked who worked in the shop and he disliked 3 but liked two, one of whom looked a bit like Mary and the other who stands up to him and is not scared of him. At the end of the session he said he would no longer try to scare the others; the air appeared to get much lighter. All people involved said that they felt much better after doing the experiment than before.
