Arrival

We met the person in charge of the house up by the main gates and had a very bumpy ride down to the house which is in a dip in the hills all around.  As we saw the house it was a most impressive building with a gothic style.

On arrival we put all of our equipment into the main room downstairs, the only one in the building with windows!  This also has an open fire which the people in charge kept going throughout the night, and was most welcome each time we returned.  This has to have been one of the coldest investigations I had been on with the temperature being about 1 degree inside!

We were shown around the house, the basement consisted of a thin corridor to two small rooms, another 2 medium sized storage type rooms on the left of the main hallway, a larger room to the left at the end of the hallway, a small room at the end and another large room to the right of the hallway. The kitchen, laundry room, and chapel (along with a couple of other rooms) were downstairs. The bathroom, toilets and corridor (without a floor - we were walking directly on the ceiling of downstairs) on the first floor. A corridor on the second floor.  On this first walk around I didn't pick up much until we entered the kitchen where I felt a very sharp pain go through my right eye and then a dizzy feeling as we went into the laundry room and the chapel.

Basement 1

There wasn't very much going on around here.  With all the lights off it was very dark and cold.  I kept having the sensation of a stables at the end room, although this didn't make much sense as it was below ground level.  Walking along the main hallway I became very away of a short gentleman who had a great liking for whisky.  I certainly felt very drunk with him, I was just starting to get a good connection when he just seemed to completely vanish!

In the first of the medium storage type rooms on the left there was an odd feeling in the doorway.  It just felt like a build up of energy and felt fine in the hallway and fine once inside the room.

After we were joined by a couple of other mediums we decided to see if we could get some table tilting started in the second of the medium sized rooms.  This was a very heavy square wooden table, and the was not much success apart from some cold breezes and a feeling of change in the air in general.

Second Floor Corridor

We went into the corridor and sat on a wooden box near the far end of the corridor.  After asking for noises or lights etc, a couple of people noticed some lights across the further end of the corridor and we heard some taps quite close.  We couldn't, however, manage to create a good enough connection to get responses to gather any type of evidence.

A couple of other mediums came into the corridor and were connecting with a short older man.  Behind one of the mediums I could see a white mist forming which was about the height of the man they were talking about.  This is the first time I have ever seen anything like this.  This mist then disappeared.

Séance

One person decided to run a séance in the main room which we had left all the bags etc. in.  This was a large room and there were a lot of people involved (about 25).  We tried singing, and each person calling out in turn, but there just didn't seem to be the energy or anything much there at all.

The Kitchen

After the séance, many people seemed to be getting a bit down because of the cold and the lack of activity in a place which is meant to be extremely paranormal.  As this was the case 3 of us decided to break fro the group to have a look around ourselves.  I wanted to go back to the kitchen area to see if I could find out ore about the pain in the eye I had experienced earlier.  This however, didn't return and after half an hour of nothing to report we decided to return to the basement.

Basement 2

This was the best part of the night there was to report on connection to the spirit world.  We stood in the far small room at the end of the narrow corridor.  With the lights of this was dark apart from a small amount of moonlight streaming in through the small window level with the ground outside.

After a short while we were aware of the presence of what appeared to be a very large man coming into the room.  After asking for a while he came to stand in front of us.  One person could make out an outline of a hood monk type figure.  He was a very strong presence and was felt very strongly by all 3 of us.  Unfortunately, though we were then interrupted so had to try and establish the connection again.  The connection did come back and was building once again when again we were disturbed by another small group.

We established that this was a monk and he appeared to be walking on the ground level, hence appearing so big as he was actually walking at about our head height and making us look up at him.

We also then became very aware of a young boy, skinny with more raged clothing.  He would look around the edge of the doorway but wouldn't come any closer.

Conclusion

This was a bit of a disappointing investigation as I was really hoping to see something a bit more concrete from the spirit world.  Although I didn't know much about the place before we went I had heard that it was meant to be very active.

There was certainly a feeling around the place, but this could quite easily be down to the fact that it is a half derelict old building which wasn't finished, which was cold with many windows missing.  It is also built in a gothic style giving it another certain air.

Apart form the short experience in the eye, the mist in the corridor, and the monk and boy in the basement there wasn't much in the way of very good evidence of paranormal activity.  I think the size of the group, which didn't gel that well, and the temperature might have given us some blockage in connections.

I would certainly like to give the place another go though, but in warmer weather and another more controlled group setting.
