Arrival

 

On arrival, whilst the rest of the guests for the night were downstairs in the bar.  I went up into the conference room (next to the bedroom) and the bedroom to have a look around.

 

It was a strange place as it is so old, the floorboards are all uneven, and there is a lot of old furniture and pictures around.  We also found a cupboard in the bedroom which had been blocked off by a wardrobe.  There didn't really appear to be anything particularly paranormal around, but one lady noticed a few flies buzzing around in one area on the ceiling.

 

Conference Room

 

We decided to split into 2 groups, one of 10 - which I took and another of 6 which someone else took into the bedroom.  My group stayed in the conference room and after trying to make the room as dark as possible, it was still light enough to see everyone around the table, we started a séance around the large main table.

 

After a short talk about what we were going to do, and protecting the circle, we started by asking out for someone to come close and show us something, or let us feel or hear something.  I also got the group to sing to try and raise the energies around the room. I also asked for other members around the circle to call out as well.

 

Although we didn't really experience much here, there was a feeling of cold breezes and the odd knock or tap around the room, but nothing very conclusive and what we could accept as proper evidence of spirit.

 

Bedroom

 

We then split the group into 3, taking 5 of the people in my group with another member of the Spirit team.  The group from the bedroom went into the Conference Room, the other group went into the small room adjoining the bedroom, and my group went into the bedroom.

 

We put a round table into the centre of the group and four people decided to get involved with asking spirit to communicate through the glass.  I joined in to get the glass started and then retired away to watch the proceedings and pass on any advice.  The glass started moving quite quickly and very soon we were talking to various relatives of the members of the circle.  Even one person who was just watching and not touching the glass received a message!  All the members appeared very happy with the evidence they received to prove that their relatives were actually there.

 

The group in the small room also got the glass moving just after our group and each person received a message from a friend or relative, again with some very good evidence.

 

The group in the conference room had the glass moving not long after the one in the small room had started.  They received evidence from spirit people who had been associated with the hotel when they had been in the physical.  This included someone who had known and loved around about the time of the gunpowder plot, a child and also a lady.  These people had also been connected to when the Spirit team had visited the hotel on a previous occasion.

 

Bar

 

After the bar had closed, we decided to move everybody downstairs to carry out a large séance with everyone included.  When we had all been upstairs, the porter had heard footsteps in the bar area, although it was empty, so we were hoping for a bit more from this area.

 

The séance didn't really give us any results, but I was very aware of a lady sitting in the far corner of the bar watching what was going on.  After a while I suggested that we should have a couple of groups doing some more glass moving to see if we could get any more results.  One group stayed by the fireplace and another smaller group sat closer to the actual bar with the glass on a low table. 

 

The group near the fireplace didn't get much results, although they did have some movement with the glass.  The group next to me were asking for someone to come forward without much success so I invited the lady in the bar to come and join us.  I put my finger on the glass and it started moving very soon after.  I then retired away to watch proceedings once they were starting to et results.  The lady spoke to us through the glass giving us her name, passing age, when she was here, where around the circle she was stood.  She certainly seemed to be very drawn towards one member who she particularly like. This was the person who had lead the circle in the conference room upstairs, where she had come through earlier.

 

Conclusion

 

 

Not a particularly paranormally active hotel, but it does appear to have a lady who visits often.  Quite a quiet investigation, without great amounts of evidence, but still interesting.  This was also good for the guests who received so many personal messages.
